Q&A: I need an anti-malware program, am i suppose to look for a antivirus program?
Question by : I need an anti-malware program, am i suppose to look for a antivirus program?
I use a Mac and also have a PC, i’ve been running into the word “malware” a lot. Do they have programs that are anti-malware as in the title, or am i suppose to pick up an anti-virus program, and the anti-malware is included? thanks
oh and can anyone suggest a reliable software? thanks again.
Best answer:
Answer by Lorenzo LIf you’re willing to pay, go for something like AVG, Norton or Kaspersky. For strictly Anti-malware, go with MBAM, or it’s formal name: MalwareBytes. All of which are very reliable and some of the best on the web.

Q&A: In linux, how can I tell what programs are using the network?
Question by McNeef: In linux, how can I tell what programs are using the network?
I have noticed a sudden increase in network activity, i.e. the light on my network hub is blinking non-stop. I suspect malware. “netstat -p” gives a few hundred lines of output I don’t understand.
Thanks, Ben. The top portion of netstat showed firefox and java. After I closed down firefox, the light was still blinking wildly. So I kill -9′d the java process and it restarted itself. Then I looked at /proc/#PROCNUM/exe to get the full pathname to java, and it was /etc/bin/gij. So I renamed gij to keep it from restarting, and killed the process again. That stopped the flashing. Why would java require such intense ....> The Post Continues Here! <....

Let us start with installation, Firefox definitely wins in this category. Many experts agree that Firefox is ahead and has the advantage over Internet Explorer. The reason for this is the size; Firefox is way smaller, takes up less space on your hard drive. The Firefox efficiency mean that it is much easier to install and reboot also is faster with ....> The Post Continues Here! <....

Mozilla FireFox 2.0 | Archive
[Old Article]
Last week we discussed Internet Explorer 7, the latest browser offering from Microsoft, and decided that whilst long overdue did go some way to addressing the functionality gap between the rather dated IE 6 and newer alternatives such as Opera and Firefox.
